Liberia, Costa Rica vacations

What began as a crossroads for out-of-town travellers to rest, Liberia, Costa Rica continues to be an important destination for commerce and tourism and is ideally located to explore the national parks and beaches nearby.  

Travel along the Pacific Coast and find a wide variety of laid-back coastal towns and beaches, from Playa Hermosa’s quiet community with ideal swimming conditions to Ocotal, known for its outstanding sport fishing and scuba diving. Tamarindo Beach is famous for its surfing and lively nightlife, while Samara Beach is a popular spot for relaxation and snorkelling. 

Two hours east lies Cordillera de Tilarán mountain range, and nearby rainforests, in the Rincón de la Vieja National Park. Walk or ride horses along the many hiking trails, take mud baths in hot springs, swim beneath waterfalls and watch for exotic species like sloths, toucans, howler monkeys and more. The area is known for its volcanic activity, as well.
